What causes it?

The most common causes of mouth pain are tooth disorder, tooth abscess, and dental caries. Other possible causes, such as jaw disorder, are more rare.

Patients with mouth pain often receive suturing of wound, diagnostic procedures on nose; mouth and pharynx, other or therapeutic procedures on nose; mouth and pharynx, diagnostic procedures on ear, tracheoscopy and laryngoscopy with biopsy, cancer chemotherapy and therapeutic radiology for cancer treatment .

Common Medications

The most commonly prescribed drugs for patients with mouth pain include penicillin, clindamycin, nystatin topical product, chlorhexidine topical, filgrastim (neupogen), enoxacin (penetrex), carbinoxamine / methscopolamine / pseudoephedrine, methenamine, aluminum hydroxide (m.a.h.), erythromycin topical product, clavulanate (augmentin), penciclovir topical and probenecid .
