Coccydynia is a medical term meaning pain in the coccyx or tailbone area, usually brought on by sitting too abruptly.

What causes it?

The most common causes of hip pain are arthritis of the hip, osteoarthritis, and bruise. Other possible causes, such as chronic back pain, are more rare.

Patients with hip pain often receive radiographic imaging procedure, plain x-ray, intravenous fluid replacement, x-ray computed tomography, physical therapy exercises, magnetic resonance imaging, prothrombin time assay and cat scan of head .

Common Medications

The most commonly prescribed drugs for patients with hip pain include hydrochlorothiazide / moexipril, medrysone ophthalmic, choline, fosfomycin, aspirin / methocarbamol, estradiol / medroxyprogesterone, gadodiamide (omniscan), calcifediol, acetaminophen / pentazocine, olsalazine (dipentum), acetaminophen / salicylamide, adefovir and methohexital (brevital) .

Who is at risk?

Groups of people at highest risk for hip pain include age 75+ years. On the other hand, age 1-4 years and age < 1 years almost never get hip pain.
