- Recent weight loss
- A recent, significant, unintentional loss of weight (either noticed visually or on a scale) in a relatively short period of time (more than two weeks but less than a year)
- Rectal bleeding
- Blood coming from the rectum; may be seen as bright red streaks in the stool, red or maroon colored liquid stool, blood clots (appear as clumps of solid red or black jelly), or even dark, thick, and sticky stool

- Inability to urinate despite a full bladder; patients generally feel the urge to urinate or built up pressure or pain from not urinating but cannot empty their bladder
- Rib pain
- An unpleasant feeling or discomfort (e.g. throbbing, sharp, achy) felt along the rib cage (either front, side, or back); pain is worse when pressed upon or when twisting the body
- Ringing in ear
- Perception of sound coming from one or both ears when there is no sound; sound is described as ringing, buzzing, humming, whistling, ticking, clicking, "crickets", beeping, etc.
- Scanty menstrual flow
- Abnormally light flow during menstrual period (i.e. "the period"); may only have light spotting on pad or tampon
- Seizures
- Caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, seizures often present as a blackout along with uncontrollable shaking, stiffness, or jerking of part or all of the body, though symptoms may vary widely
- Sensory disturbance
- Unpleasant or unusual sensations felt on the body (e.g. tingling, numbness, crawling, "pins and needles," electric sensation) or changes in smell or taste (e.g. loss of smell or taste, or regularly experiencing unusual smells or tastes)
- Sharp abdominal pain
- An unpleasant, piercing or knife-like feeling, felt internally in the "belly" or "stomach" area
- Sharp chest pain
- An unpleasant, sharp or piercing feeling, felt internally in the area within the rib cage
- Shortness of breath
- A feeling of not getting enough air or breathing unusually fast for the level of activity in which you are currently engaged (e.g. severely out of breath after climbing just a few stairs)
- Shoulder cramps or spasms
- A sudden, non-purposeful tensing of muscles in the shoulder that lasts a short period of time and then goes away, sometimes leading to brief but severe pain
- Shoulder lump or mass
- Any abnormal collection of tissue originating from the shoulder; may appear as a defined lump inside of the shoulder when pressing down, or one shoulder appearing bigger than the other
- Shoulder pain
- An unpleasant feeling or discomfort (e.g. throbbing, sharp, achy) felt internally between the top of the arm and the neck, on one or both sides; may be associated with tingling, a crackling sound, or weakness of the joint
- Shoulder stiffness or tightness
- Either pain when moving or inability to move at the shoulder joint to the normal degree in all the usual directions of movement
- Shoulder swelling
- Enlarged of the shoulder joint due to fluid buildup; the area may be red, warm, throbbing, or pressure-like; swelling may be inside the shoulder joint or in the surrounding tissues

- Any new change in feeling or function of the shoulders (from the base of the neck to the arms), including pain or soreness, weakness, spasms, cramps, numbness, tingling, swelling, redness, itching, warmth, etc.

- Irritated skin may be painful to touch and may appear dry, red, itchy, scaly or peeling, and may have blisters or bumps
- Skin lesion
- Any change in the skin on a specific spot of the body, including color change, bumps, blisters, or growths; may be itchy, warm, or painful

- Signs of infection of the skin include a diffuse red rash, warmth, swelling, tenderness, crusting, oozing pus, blistering, and sometimes shedding of the skin, holes in the skin, or a black charcoal-like appearance

- Difficulty controlling or weakness in the muscles of speech leading to slow speech or speaking unclearly with sounds running into each other

- Sneezing
- A sudden, forceful, semi-purposeful burst of air from the lungs through the nose or mouth, often accompanied by mucus
